Create Your Feature Wall With Justina Blakeney

If you have decided you want to make one wall in your room the feature wall - be it the wall behind your bed, the fireplace wall in your living room, the stairwell wall in your hall, the bare wall in your kitchen, or perhaps it's the dining room area in an open plan apartment or house. But beyond wallpapering the wall in a single wallpaper, are there other ways you can make this wall your feature wall with Justina Blakeney. Follow our tips for some new ideas for creating a feature wall.

Since many of the younger buyers were looking to remodel their older homes, they discovered teal wallpaper that was extremely difficult to remove due to earlier adhesives.

As stated above, wallpaper the entire wall in a single wallpaper design; single walls tend to take between 2 and 3 rolls of wallpaper and can create interest, impact, and warmth without overwhelming the room and too much expense.

Wallpaper the alcoves on either side of your fireplace. You could either wallpaper the entire width of the alcove or use a wallpaper panel or a single strip of wallpaper in each. Placing beading as a frame around the strip of wallpaper will make it look as though this was intentional and not intended to be a cheap way around your decorating!

Alternatively, you could paint the feature wall in the background color of the wallpaper and then centralize the 2 strips of wallpaper in the alcoves - this creates a vivid impact at a fraction of the cost of wallpapering the whole wall.

Hang the wallpaper horizontally, leaving a block of a vivid paint color between each strip of wallpaper.

Hang one strip of vivid wallpaper horizontally along the same level as the main furniture, e.g., the top of the sofa or the headboard.

Don't forget the bathroom - it is an ideal room for wallpapering one wall as there is usually one wall that is quite bare and opposite the shower area. Just remember to varnish over the wallpaper if it is in danger of being splashed by water.

Use wall panels such as the Scandinavian panel pieces to create a specific area in an open plan living arrangement. Place 2 or 3 wall panels in the dining or relaxed reading area, creating a separate zone marked by the wall covering.

However, don't let the feature wall work in isolation in the room. If you have placed a vivid or bold wallpaper on a single wall, remember to continue that color, style, or pattern around the room in lamps, cushions, rugs, and vases. Hence, the whole room has unity and continuity.

Conclusion

If splashing out on covering your whole room in wallpaper seems a bit too expensive or over the top, maybe opt for a single feature wall instead. Choosing a bold, large stripe can create quite a statement, or if you'd like to experiment with depths, try a darker-toned wallpaper to contrast with the rest of the walls. For a comfy bedroom or space, opts for Justina Blakeney to make your interiors look bold and elegant.
